A desert night

Postby Fayax » Sat Nov 07, 2009 2:19 am

I read somewhere that a man at least once in his life time should go to the desert and spend some time there.

I think being away from all the white noise, false light and away from all facilities and distractions of life allows a person to look inwards for a better understanding of self.

yeah i wont miss the chance either but i dont want to experience it alone. Someone MUST need to be with me.

btw i know in UAE they have some arrangements for spending night in desert. But that is kind of very lavish arrangement. Like Jumana Night - Secret of Desert. where they arrange laser light shows, water dances, belly dances, fireworks, arabic music, sheesha and qehwa etc. I have heard a lot about it. Ppl really enjoy the night but then again me and my masoor ki daal shakal, i cannot dare to go to such places alone and without men.

btw if its only to look inside you, to understand urself, you can go to places like Hospital and see how patients are fighting for their lives. How families are trying their best to avoid the inevitable. You realise that you are soooo lucky that you are alive alhamdulillah and healthy.
Then you can go to places like Sudan, Ethiopia etc and see the human misery there.
Go to places like Kashmir, Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine and see how helpless a human being can be but still how determined, how brave.
Go to places like balouchistan where there is least water and electricity supply compared to any other province of Pak. I once happened to saw a documentary on baluchistan and the problems it is facing, and i was shocked after seeing the REAL picture of this province which is famous for its extremely sweet fruits.
you know we are very very unthankful ppl, very extremely awfully unthankful ppl.  :td:

^The original sin was eating the fruit from the tree. You mean people in desert can end up eating fruits?

Well still I think its the silence, the absence of all artificial noise and the the separation from the crowds that allows people to have an insight into themselves.
